As part of Oman’s Vision 2040, Royal Decree (76/2020) was issued to lay the foundation for advancing higher education in the Sultanate. The decree unified the former Colleges of Technology, Colleges of Applied Sciences, and the Rustaq College of Education under a single umbrella to form a new educational entity, the “University of Technology and Applied Sciences” (UTAS).
This integration, which began in August 2020, marks a pivotal step towards enhancing higher education, scientific research, and innovation, aiming to meet modern demands, align with national priorities, and bridge the gap between education and the evolving job market in line with the National Education Strategy 2040 and the National Research Strategy.
